This three movement work for solo Euphonium (or Tuba) features TRONAD (Mvt.I) with constantly turning melodic lines interacting with brash and sometimes whimsical accompaniment. IN A GENTLE RAIN (Mvt.II) explores the beautiful sonorities of the euphonium in a serene environment, and HURRICANE (Mvt. III) with a powerful statement for both soloist and band leading to a highly dramatic conclusion. The work includes solo parts for Euphonium and Tuba. Also, because the work is dedicated to and recorded by Roger Behrend, alternate solo parts are included with Mr. Behrend's dazzling technical facilities wonderfully demonstrated. This composition is a very important addition to the literature!
